Aleksandar Mitrovic of Fulham has been urged by former Tottenham Hotspur attacker Darren Bent to sign with Chelsea rather than Manchester United.
Bent thinks Mitrovic is prepared to make a significant career transfer, and Chelsea would be a better fit for him than Man United because of players like Ben Chilwell and Reece James, two Blues full-backs.
Mitrovic has scored 11 goals in 15 Premier League games for Fulham so far this season, which is a prolific total.
The Serbian, who helped the Cottagers win promotion to the Premier League last season by scoring 43 goals in 44 games in the Championship, is ready to move on to a bigger team, according to Bent, who thinks Chelsea would be a good fit for the 28-year-old.
“I think he is [ready for a big move]. He scores a lot of goals for Serbia. I think he is their all-time leading scorer. "The only thing about Mitrovic is that if you bring him in, you are going to have to play in a particular way,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“You have to give him service and get the ball into the box because that is where he is at his best." "He gets across the defender, is really strong in the air, holds up the ball, but is not the quickest.”
He continued, “Mitrovic needs service, and I think that the way Manchester United play and break with pace, it might not suit him." With the way that Ten Hag plays, are they going to revert to playing a certain way with Mitrovic in? Probably not, but he can play at the top level.
“When you look at their wing-backs, the likes of Reece James and Ben Chilwell, and the way they fling crosses in, he would thrive in that system.”
