Erik ten Hag has questioned why Zidane Iqbal has not featured more often in the Manchester United first-team.
This was after Zidane made an immediate impression on Erik ten Hag, who is said to be surprised that such talent is not being put on display.
Ten Hag was in charge of his first training session at Carrington last week, laying out his plans and expectations for the new season.
The Dutchman has already made it clear he will bring in some of the club’s young academy stars to challenge established first-team players for roles in the starting XI.
And a number of these youngsters have been involved in training with Zidane Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho impressing the Dutchman, according to The Sun.
Zidane signed a new long-term contract with the club last week and The Sun quoted a source to have said, “A lot of the younger players have been in the training sessions, too.
“He has been impressed with Zidane and wonders why he has not featured more.”
