Yesterday night at Ikeja in Lagos state was an unexpected moment as people are running up and down in order to put the fire that razed the popular Lagos Airport hotel (Ikeja Hotel) under control.
During the outbreak of the fire incident, no fewer that three vehicles were affected, though the fire did not affect the hotel main building before it was put under control.
A Toyota coaster bus with number plate, LND133XW; a Honda civic saloon car with number plate, AKR234LZ; and a Cadillac Escalade car with an unknown registration number were the affected vehicles.
However, the Director General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu has confirmed the incident, he said in a statement that a building within the hotel premises was also affected but the fire has been extinguished.
He said, βWe received multiple reports of a fire outbreak at Ikeja Airport Hotel along Obafemi Awolowo Way in Ikeja.
βOn arrival at the above scene, it was determined that three (3) vehicles had caught fire, one Toyota coaster bus (LND133XW), a Honda civic saloon car (AKR234LZ) and a Cadillac Escalade car with unknown registration number.
βThe resultant fire affected the Tour Africa Transport Company within the airport hotel premises and not the hotel building itself.
βThe flames have since been extinguished by our respondents and the Lagos State Fire Service and an investigation is being carried out to ascertain the cause of the fire.

In the meantime, the primary causes of the fire outbreak is yet to be known as at the time of filing this report.
