The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially concluded the registration process for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with over 2 million candidates set to participate in the exams this April.
JAMB 2025 Registration Figures
According to an update in JAMB’s weekly bulletin, as of March 8, 2025, a total of 2,030,627 candidates successfully completed their registration for the UTME. This figure does not include those registered at foreign centers.
Additionally, 200,115 candidates have opted to take the optional mock UTME, scheduled for April 5, 2025, while 630 candidates have also registered for a trial mock examination on the same date.
Exam Security & Anti-Cheating Measures
With registration now closed, JAMB has shifted its focus to examination security. The board has introduced new anti-cheating measures to uphold the integrity of the UTME, leading to the arrest of several candidates attempting to gain admission using forged A-level results.
JAMB has strictly warned all candidates against any form of malpractice, stating that advanced monitoring systems have been put in place to detect and penalize fraud. The board emphasized that violators will face serious consequences.
Important Reminders for Candidates
JAMB also reminded candidates that UTME registration is separate from other exams like WAEC and NECO. The board urged students, parents, and schools to recognize this distinction and adhere to JAMB’s registration protocols.
With the 2025 UTME set to hold on April 25, 2025, all registered candidates are advised to prepare adequately and strictly follow examination guidelines to avoid disqualification.
