Tuface Idibia, a Nigerian music legend, has questioned the Federal Government about the wealth collected from former military ruler Sani Abacha.

The Federal Government retrieved around $311 million of Abacha's alleged stolen funds from the United States and Jersey on April 4, 2020, according to NAIJACRAWL.

In December 2017, Switzerland returned $322 million in Abacha plunder to Nigeria as part of a 2004 agreement signed between the two countries during Olusegun Obasanjo's administration.

On the same day, the Republic of Ireland agreed to restore to Nigeria about N2,514,651,800 (€5.5 million) taken by Sani Abacha.

Tuface speculated on Instagram that Abacha may have looted the assets to safeguard it from 'thieves' in Nigeria.

He remarked this as he worried what had happened to the loot that had been retrieved.

The entertainer emphasized that if Abacha truly intended to steal money, it would have been nearly difficult for anyone to recover the money.

"If Abacha genuinely stole this money, we for no fit recoup am, abi na just me they think this thing," Tuface wrote.

That your eye sharpens, my man! If not, please tell me what happened to the recovered monies. I believe he (Abacha) sought to keep it away from these thieving hands (my personal opinion). "Alooter keeps going, abi."

He also used the opportunity to admonish Nigerians to wake up, stressing that no one would rescue us from the hands of shameless Nigerian leaders.

“Oh shameless Nigerian and African leaders!! I definitely know that you guys will still ignore and pretend you are not aware of things.

” We, the “shameless citizens of Africa” should also wake up nobody is coming to rescue us,” Tuface wrote.
