Nigerian singer-songwriter Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has declared himself the poster boy of afrobeats.



He stated this while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of i-D Meets.

He said, “I see myself as the bridge to take African music to the whole world. I changed the sound. I changed the perspective. "The template is mine.”

The Daily Post recalls that shortly after winning the Next Rated award at the 2019 Headies Awards ceremony, Rema declared himself the future of afrobeats.
