An Abuja Court has granted controversial singer, Darlington Okoye aka Speed Darlington bail.

This was after the Nigeria Police Force bowed to pressure and arraigned him in court.

Disclosed this via X, Darlington’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju wrote: “Police finally arraigns Speed Darlington in court.
“Bail application moved and granted. We are trying to perfect same.”

The details of his bail are not yet public.

However, Okoye had recently petitioned DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, Abuja over his continued detention.

In his petition, Okoye asked the DIG to comply with a court order challenging his continued detention by the police.

The controversial singer was arrested for accused Grammy award singer, Burna Boy of having amoral relationship with embattled singer of the United States, Sean Combs aka P.Diddy.

But, Justice M.S. Liman in the order issued on December 23, 2024, directed the police to either charge Okoye to court within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.
