When Davido, a Nigerian singer, stated he would bring Africa to America, he wasn't kidding.
In an interview with Trevor Noah, the FEM singer said that throughout his tour, he will solely wear African labels.
It is, he claims, his way of assisting hardworking Africans, particularly Nigerians, in raising and promoting their businesses to Westerners.
Many assumed he was bluffing, but as Davido and his team arrived in NYC with the prop, many began to believe him. In Osogbo, Osun State, Davido and his colleagues built a replica of the Sacred Grove.
As his team prepared the musical instruments for the inaugural WRBLO event, he released a video of the prop.
The Osun-Osogbo Grove (which is located along the banks of the Osun river) is several centuries old and is among the last of the sacred forests that once adjoined the edges of most Yoruba cities before extensive urbanization.
