The ongoing drama between American singer and actress Halle Bailey and her ex-partner, DDG, took an unexpected turn this week when Bailey publicly criticized him for featuring their son, Halo, on a livestream without her consent.
The incident occurred on November 6, 2024, when DDG appeared with Halo on Twitch during a stream hosted by popular creator Kai Cenat. Bailey, who was out of town at the time, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her frustration and disappointment.
In her post, Halle wrote, “Hi everyone. Just so you know, I am out of town and I don't approve of my baby being on a stream tonight. I wasn't told or notified, and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people.”
The 24-year-old actress continued, “I am his mother and protector and saddened that I wasn't notified, especially when I am out of town.”
However, Bailey’s statement quickly sparked debate and backlash on X. Many users pointed out the perceived inconsistency in her stance, noting that she has shared images of Halo on her own social media accounts.
One user wrote, “As if she doesn’t post him to millions every day, I'm confused.”
Another comment read, “Laid down and got pregnant by a streamer and mad the baby on a stream…girl boo.”
“Talking like her baby is not already all over the internet,” chimed in another critic.
Amid the flurry of reactions, Bailey’s name became a trending topic on X. In response to the heated discussions, the singer-actress chose to deactivate her accounts on both Instagram and X.
This recent controversy comes just weeks after DDG’s announcement that he and Bailey had ended their relationship. The couple, who had welcomed their son less than a year ago, confirmed their split in October 2024. In his statement, DDG wrote, “After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we've shared.”
