Popular Big Brother Naija star Deeone has made a shocking revelation about his controversial appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast with Nedu Wazobia.

During a recent interview on Breakfast Show on TVC, Deeone admitted that he intentionally orchestrated his appearance on the podcast—without Nedu’s knowledge—as a trap to expose social media activist VeryDarkMan.

His revelation follows the heated fallout from the podcast episode, where Deeone accused VeryDarkMan of engaging in same-sex relationships. In response, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to fire back, alleging that Nedu uses his platform to demand sexual favors from rising entertainers in exchange for exposure. He even threatened to release the names of individuals allegedly involved.

The controversy escalated, ultimately leading to Nedu’s dismissal from The Honest Bunch podcast.

Now expressing remorse over the unintended consequences of his actions, Deeone admitted:

"To be honest, I set a trap for VeryDarkMan using Nedu as bait. I had been studying him for months, trying to figure out if he was genuine or just manipulating Nigerians. Some things he says are right, but most times, he jumps to conclusions and deceives people. I knew that if I called him out on social media, people would say I was chasing clout. So, I needed a platform."

He further clarified that Nedu was completely unaware of his plan:

"Even Nedu is shocked. If I had told him, he wouldn’t have agreed because they are friends. I never imagined he would lose his job over it. I genuinely feel bad and sorry about that. But in the end, the plan worked—I used Nedu as bait to catch the fish (VeryDarkMan), and it played out perfectly."
