Cross-dresser James Brown, a well-known cross-dresser, has reacted to a motion by the Nigerian House of Representatives to outlaw cross-dressing.
According to Naijacrawl, Umar Muda, a member of the House of Representatives, submitted a bill last week prohibiting cross-dressing in Nigeria.
The bill aims to outlaw cross-dressing, with the exception of individuals who do it for fun.
Crossdressers now face a six-month prison sentence if the proposed law is passed.
The bill also proposes to alter the same-sex marriage (prohibition) legislation of 2013 by adding cross-dressing to the list of offenses.
In response, James Brown declared on Instagram that he is a drag queen.
Point of correction: I am NOT a crossdresser. I am a drag queen. Do your research before you come to see me. My job is to entertain using my personality and my beauty.
You already know the vibes!
”I am a comedian. You thought I was making you laugh for no reason. I am the Princess of Africa. This bill
It has nothing on me.
Don’t underestimate the power that I carry. Ask my fans, ask those that know me personally, on a daily basis, I give you
James without all the glam and the feminine touch.
Let me enjoy my life. Omo to dun toyi. ”
