Last week, Joker director Todd Phillips confirmed that a sequel to the critically acclaimed picture was in the works, posting a photo on social media of actor Joaquin Phoenix reading a script for Joker: Folie à Deux.
The title Folie à Deux refers to a medical disorder in which two or more people begin to share delusions.
As this suggests, Phoenix will not be alone in the sequel, as the Hollywood Reporter reports that Lady Gaga is in talks to play Harley Quinn in the film.
This would not be Gaga's first debut on the big screen. The music superstar was praised for her work in 2018's A Star Is Born, and she also starred in House last year.
She has also already worked with Phillips, who directed A Star Is Born.
Of course, in recent years, Harley Quinn has been portrayed on screen by Margot Robbie, who has played the Joker’s sidekick and romantic partner in three DC films.
