A video of Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing pleading for forgiveness at The Celebrities Entertainment Award in Canada has gone viral, marking a turning point in her relationship with the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).
This follows her 2021 suspension by TAMPAN over a public feud with fellow actor Lege Miami (Kehinde Adams), which escalated over social media.
The suspension stemmed from a heated social media exchange between the two actors regarding their differing stances on the Baba Ijesha case, a controversial incident involving accusations of sexual assault against a minor. While Lege Miami offered a public apology to TAMPAN, Blessing initially refused, continuing her criticisms of her colleague.
In the recent video, Blessing, who had traveled to Canada, was seen on her knees, tearfully asking for TAMPAN’s forgiveness. Her gesture was met with acceptance, as Nollywood stars Odunlade Adekola and others embraced her and helped her to her feet, symbolically closing a chapter on their dispute.
