Offset and his legal team scored another victory in a Los Angeles court in May when a lawsuit filed by Platinum Transportation Group over a missing Bentley Bentayga was dismissed, according to Rolling Stone.
PTG sued Offset in February 2021 for failing to return the Bentley he rented in 2020 and slapped him with a judgment for nearly $1 million.
The Migos rapper’s attorneys argued that the suit was filed in the wrong venue and then PTG agreed to dismiss the lawsuit “without prejudice,” which means they can technically try to sue Offset once again in a different judicial forum.
“The case was not settled. We are simply changing venue and will be refiled in the federal northern district court of Georgia,” Platinum’s lawyer, Bryan M. Thomas, relayed in a statement.
The legal docs claim that Offset leased the vehicle for $600 a day in May 2020 and he told the company that he wasn’t the owner of the car and reported it stolen around July 4, 2020, which was weeks before the rental’s expiration.
PTG then filed the lawsuit in 2021 for a reimbursement of $950,027.35. Offset is alleging that it wasn’t him that rented the car and he placed the blame on Oriel Williams, who is the mother to one of his children.
