Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has made bold claims about his former partner, Queen Dami, accusing her of being the reason he has yet to win a Grammy Award.
Queen Dami, once the wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, parted ways with the ‘Zazu Zeh’ hitmaker after a public spat on social media. In a candid interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, Portable hinted at a spiritual undertone to their split.
He revealed that he sought guidance from ‘ifa,’ a traditional Yoruba spiritual system, to eliminate anything hindering his progress. Following this prayer, he claims Queen Dami exited his life.
“She [Queen Dami] is a major reason I haven’t clinched a Grammy, despite my relentless efforts in music,” Portable said. He accused his ex of infidelity during their relationship and suggested that her alleged disloyalty brought him misfortune.
“If I’m with a woman who is faithful, I flourish. But if she’s involved with other men, I face setbacks. By now, I should have won a Grammy if she hadn’t been part of my life,” he added.
The singer’s remarks have sparked widespread reactions online, with many debating his assertions about love, loyalty, and success.
