Sensational Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi has finally received the plaque for her Grammy award.
The Daily Post recalls that Tems snagged the award for Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 65th Grammys on February 6, 2023.
She won the award for her contribution to Future’s ‘Wait For U," which also featured Drake.
Her manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, shared the news of the arrival of the plaque via his Instagram story on Friday.
He flaunted the Grammy award plaque on his Instagram story without a caption.
Tems is the first female Nigerian artist to win a Grammy.
She is also the first female Nigerian singer to be nominated for a Grammy award. She was nominated in the Best Global Performance category last year for her hit song with Wizkid, ‘Essence," but lost to Pakistan’s Arooj Aftab.
