Renowned actress Liz Benson has made a triumphant return to Nollywood after a prolonged hiatus from the acting scene.



The celebrated performer is back to her roots, gracing the screen in a new cinematic offering titled "A Mother’s Son," brought to life by the production prowess of actress Mercy Johnson and helmed by director Vincent De Anointed.

Mercy Johnson excitedly revealed Benson's comeback through a behind-the-scenes glimpse shared on her Instagram handle, capturing the heartfelt reception from the cast members as they welcomed the veteran actress.

This star-studded project boasts a stellar lineup including Mike Godson, Mercy Johnson, Evia Simon, Ozioma Maurice, and George Inaibeh, among others, promising a captivating cinematic experience.

In a touching moment, Liz Benson expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome from her peers, acknowledging their collective achievements and remarking on the joy of meeting them in person. She particularly singled out her 'daughter' Mercy Johnson, reflecting the familial bond within the industry.

Hailing from Etinan, Akwa Ibom in southern Nigeria, Liz Benson's illustrious career spans decades, beginning as a child actress at the age of five. However, it was her portrayal of Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the television soap opera 'Fortunes' on NTA in 1993 that propelled her to widespread recognition.

Throughout the 1990s, Benson soared to stardom with her appearances in iconic movies, cementing her status as a household name during the formative years of Nollywood.
