Nigerian singer Slimcase has shed light on why Grammy-winning artist Wizkid often withholds his collaborative tracks with other musicians.
According to Slimcase, Wizkid meticulously evaluates each song, listening to it about 50 times to ensure it meets his high standards before releasing it. This rigorous selection process means that many collaborations with Wizkid never make it past the studio.
Speaking in a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos, Slimcase said, “When you make music with Wizkid, he will let you do your thing without any scrutiny, then in your absence, he can listen to the song like 50 times to know if the song meets his standard. That is why you see artists in the studio with Wizkid and the song never drops.”
Slimcase, who teamed up with Wizkid on the 2018 hit "Gucci Snake," shared these insights, highlighting the Starboy’s commitment to quality.
Recently, singer BNXN voiced similar concerns, criticizing Wizkid for keeping numerous collaborations with emerging artists under wraps. Despite recording tracks with young talents every year, BNXN lamented that most of these songs remain unreleased.
