The fifth team of Chinese Peacekeeping Police force dispatched to Liberia was awarded UN peacekeeping medals on Saturday.
The team of 140 members received the medals during a ceremony held at their camp in Monrovia, capital of Liberia. It has helped train a local riot police task force under the command of the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), and performed well in armed patrols, garrison and guard missions, said Mou Yuchang, political commissar for the MPS Border Control Bureau. The fifth team has served in 574 missions since it landed in Liberia in March.
