Mowry tried to blame the victim, claiming that he forced himself on her but was caught in the lie by a phone conversation secretly recorded by the Police. She has been sentenced to 20 years in Prison while the boy, now 17 is left to take care of his son.

Nadean Campbell, the boy's mother who could not believe that Mowry saw his son as anything but the child he was at 11, says  "Just being a teenager is hard enough and you’re gonna throw in molestation — which messes with their head — and then you’re going to throw in being a parent?". She explains that the situation is hard on her son as he has to take his child to school first before going to school himself and he has no prospects of a social life as he is always rushing home to be with his child.
