In a significant declaration at the Nigeria-Qatar Business and Investment Forum in Doha, President Bola Tinubu has called upon Qatari captains of industry to report any instances of bribery demanded by Nigerian officials.

Emphasizing Nigeria's commitment to breaking free from its history of bureaucratic bottlenecks and corruption, President Tinubu outlined a vision for a more transparent and business-friendly environment.

During the forum on Sunday, President Tinubu urged Qatari investors not to succumb to bribery and assured them that any such requests should be promptly reported. "Do not offer a bribe to any of our people, and if it is requested or taken from you, report to us. You will have access to me," he declared, emphasizing his commitment to fostering a corruption-free business landscape.

This directive was revealed by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu to Qatari investors: Report to me of my officials who obstruct progress or ask for bribe; no deviation from path to prosperity.’

President Tinubu went on to reassure the international business community that Nigeria is eager and prepared for serious business. He pledged decisive action against entrenched interests that undermine investor confidence and promised the removal of obstacles hindering profitable and legitimate enterprises. "Do not let perceptions become a hindrance to your will to invest. Nigeria is serious about revolutionizing investment promotion," he affirmed.

Addressing Qatari investors, President Tinubu highlighted ongoing reforms and upgrades in Africa's largest economy. He encouraged Qatar businessmen to report any demands for bribes or inducements by government officials during their business endeavors, assuring them of direct access to him.

"I am here to give you the assurance that reforms are going on; forget about whatever you heard in the past. Whatever is the obstacle or problem that some of you might have experienced; it is in the past because there is no obstacle in the future," President Tinubu declared, instilling confidence in the prospective investors.

In addition, he assured investors that their funds would experience seamless mobility in and out of the Nigerian economy. "We are removing obstacles today, and we are going to continue to remove all obstacles," President Tinubu affirmed, signaling a transformative era for business interactions between Nigeria and Qatar.
