The show is known to captivate viewers especially women who find interest in picking preferred housemate and vying for the housemate to win by weekly online voting. The last edition of Big brother Naija was shot in South Africa, and the housemates were camped at South Africa too. Many Nigerians complained about the insensitivity of the sponsors, tagging a show Big brother Naija and chose to camp them in South Africa.

This year's show will be different as housemates is to be camped in Nigeria but the venue is still unknown. The audition venue for the TV show will take place in these cities; Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Ibadan and Benin on February 1st and 2nd. This year's event will still be anchored by Ebuka, but sponsored by Bet9ja. The prize money will be announced after the housemates have been selected.
