In a major crackdown, Bengaluru’s Anti-Narcotics wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) made one of its largest drug seizures to date, apprehending a 40-year-old Nigerian woman for drug peddling.

Authorities recovered a staggering 12 kilograms of MDMA, valued at approximately ₹24 crore, from the accused, identified as Roselime Oluchi Ikeoha.

Roselime, who had been operating a grocery store in the TC Palya area for the past five years, allegedly used her shop as a front to distribute drugs. Upon questioning, she confessed to sourcing the illicit substances from another Nigerian woman based in Mumbai.

City Police Commissioner B Dayananda, addressing the media on Tuesday, stated, "This is one of the largest drug seizures in Bengaluru and Karnataka."

The arrest followed a meticulously planned operation by the CCB. Acting on credible intelligence, officers posed as buyers to meet Roselime at the KR Pura bus stand. There, they confiscated a small quantity of MDMA and arrested her. A subsequent raid at her residence in TC Palya uncovered 12 kilograms of MDMA along with 70 SIM cards registered under various names.

During interrogation, Roselime admitted to supplying drugs to a wide clientele, including foreign nationals, college students, and employees of private firms. Investigators revealed that she transported the drugs from her Mumbai-based contact through multiple channels. Efforts are currently underway to locate and apprehend this supplier, who remains at large.

Police also discovered that Roselime had overstayed her business visa, which had expired years ago. A case has been filed against her under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Foreigners Act.
