Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) nominee for president in the general election of 2023, has declared he will end his conflict with President Bola Tinubu after the Supreme Court rules on his appeal against the tribunal's ruling.

The election victory of the president had been contested in court by Atiku, who came in second place to Tinubu.

However, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal dismissed the former vice president's petition, so he was unsuccessful.

Despite the tribunal's decision, Atiku persisted in his legal battle before a US court, which ultimately ordered the release of the official records Atiku plans to use in his Supreme Court appeal.

He had argued that Tinubu should not have been allowed to run for office because there were errors in the Chicago State University (CSU) certificate Tinubu submitted to INEC.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Atiku said: “I have already filed my appeal against him at the Supreme Court.
“It is only when the court rules that he is right that I will drop this fight; in other words, I will drop this fight when the court rules because there is no court higher than the Supreme Court.”
When asked if he was under pressure from Tinubu to drop the case, Atiku claimed that after the election, he learned that some governors were sent by Tinubu to reach out to him.
“I didn’t even let them come to my house,” Atiku revealed.
