Towards the September 22 gubernatorial election in the state of Osun, today Saturday 1st of September 2018, at the Action Democratic Party(ADP) Secretariat in Osogbo, three serving members of Osun state house of assembly decamp from the ruling party to the contending opposition party ADP in the state.
The defectors are Hon. Debo Akanbi, representing Ede north, Hon. Tajudeen Famuyide representing Ilesa west and Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim representing Iwo local government. The honourables were received by the ADP state chairman.
While Hon. Debo Akanbi was addressing the supporters and members of ADP he said, “We know the foundation of All Progressives Congress in the State and we agreed with Governor Aregbesola to spend eight years in power not that when his leaving he will anoint a candidate.
With this defection, the race for the forthcoming election become tighter between the four leading contending parties which are APC, PDP,ADP and SDP.
It should be noted that since the conclusion of the APC primary election in the state last month, many staunch supporters of the party in the state have been decamping on a daily basis citing imposition and undemocratic decisions by the party stakeholders as the reasons for leaving the party.
