Moroccan referee Jayed Jalal has been appointed as the match official for the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Rwanda and Nigeria, set to take place at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali, on Friday, March 21.

Jalal will be assisted by his fellow countrymen, Mostapha Akarkad (First Assistant Referee) and Hamza Nassiri (Second Assistant Referee), ensuring an all-Moroccan officiating team for this crucial Group C encounter.

The 37-year-old referee is no stranger to the Super Eagles, having officiated their 2-1 victory over Ghana’s Black Stars in an international friendly played in Marrakech, Morocco, on March 22, 2024.

Group C Standings:

  • Rwanda leads the table with seven points from four matches.
  • Nigeria currently sits in fifth place with just three points from the same number of games.

With the Super Eagles desperate for a turnaround in their qualification campaign, all eyes will be on this pivotal clash in Kigali. Stay tuned for more updates!
