Leon Balogun is eager to play for Nigeria once more at the international level.
Due to an injury, the 35-year-old was unable to participate in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, and the Super Eagles were eliminated in the round of 16.
Injury has limited Balogun's participation for the West Africans in the AFCON qualifiers for 2023.
In June, Queens Park Rangers, a club in the Sky Bet Championship, released the seasoned center-back.
But last month, Balogun unexpectedly returned to Scottish Premiership powerhouse Rangers.
Balogun has said he has enjoyed playing regular football since moving to Ibrox Stadium and that he would like to return to the Super Eagles.
“That’s perfect; I’m hoping to make the next squad. I have been out for quite some time, and definitely, it would be something nice, he told Rangers TV.
“Obviously, I’m looking forward to being called up. As much as it can be chaotic, I missed international football with Nigeria and a lot of faces I haven’t seen for a long time.”
