A Champions League Supercomputer has predicted Premier League club, Arsenal, to win the trophy this season.

It would mark the first Champions League trophy in Arsenal’s history.

The Gunners have never been crowned champions of Europe’s elite club competition before.

Their best performance in the competition was in the 2005-06 season when they finished as runners-up to Barcelona.

Arsenal were paired against PSV in the Champions League Round of 16 draw conducted on Friday.

Bettingexpert’s Supercomputer, BETSiE, has now predicted that Mikel Arteta’s side will go all the way for the first time ever.

BETSiE ran its algorithm to predict who will win this season’s Champions League after the knockouts draw was concluded on Friday.

The Supercomputer simulated the season 100,000 times, taking into account all match results from last season, pre-season results and the current season as it progresses.

Based on the simulations, Arsenal are BETSiE’s favourites with a 22.4 percent win probability for the whole competition.

Behind Arsenal are Barcelona, who are second favourites with a 15.2 percent win probability for the whole competition, followed by Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, reacting to Arsenal’s Champions League Round of 16 draw against PSV on Friday, manager Mikel Arteta described the Dutch club as a really good team.

“Well we played against them [in the league phase] and they are a really good team, we know that,” Arteta said at his pre-match interview ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with West Ham on Saturday.
