The names of four managers to replace Gareth Southgate as England’s head coach have been revealed.
According to the Telegraph, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers, and Steve Holland are on the FA’s shortlist of possible candidates to replace Southgate if he goes against the country’s football body’s wishes and quits.
Southgate’s contract runs until after Euro 2024, but he admitted after England’s 2022 FIFA World Cup exit that he was considering his future.
Southgate’s side impressed in Qatar before suffering a quarter-final 2-1 defeat to World Cup holders France.
Asked about his future as England’s head coach after his team’s exit, Southgate said he would take his time before making any decisions.
“I think after every tournament, we have sat and reviewed and reflected,” Southgate said at his post-match press conference.
