Inter Miami forward, Lionel Messi, has said it would be “a beautiful honour” to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
The 36-year-old however insists he has already won important awards like the Champions League, Copa America and World Cup.
Messi is in line to win a record-extending Ballon d’Or, having won it seven times already.
He is expected to face competition from Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain.
But Messi said: “[The Ballon d’Or] is a beautiful honor.
“But I was lucky to win everything: the Champions League, league titles, Copa America, World Cup. These are the important awards.”
