According to the UK Telegraph, Liverpool may need to pay a compensation fee to Sporting CP to hire manager Ruben Amorim.
It seems like Amorim could be the successor to Jurgen Klopp for the upcoming season.
If Liverpool decides that he's the right choice to lead the team, they'll have to trigger a release clause in his contract.
This means they would have to pay as much as €15 million (£13m/$16m) to Sporting CP for his services when the release clause activates in the summer. The fee decreases to €10m (£8.5m/$10.5m) the following season.
Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso, who was thought to be a top contender for the Liverpool job, recently announced that he's staying with Bayer Leverkusen.
