Daniel Ogunmodede, the head coach of Remo Stars, is optimistic about his team's chances against Enyimba in their Nigeria Premier Football League matchup on Wednesday (today).
When the eight-time champions visit Ikenne, the Sky Blue Stars will try to recover from their discouraging 3-0 loss to Bendel Insurance on the previous Saturday.
Enyimba, the most successful team in NPFL history, was in obliterating form as they defeated Kwara United 3-0 in Aba in their most recent match.
With a strong technical bench headed by former Super Eagles winger George Finidi, The People's Elephant also has a lot of high caliber players on their roster.
Ogunmodede is confident his team can defeat the Aba giants despite Enyimba's impressive pedigree.
We are familiar with Enyimba's style of play because we frequently watch their matches. There is no doubt they are one of the top teams in the country. "They are a household name,” Ogunmodede said in a short video posted on the club’s official Twitter handle.
“In spite of that, we don’t have any special approach to the game." We just go in with a proper mentality, knowing that we are playing at home.
“We want to win and maintain our status at the table." We want to come out as champions. "We need to beat Enyimba, and I believe we can do that,” he added.
