Chippa United's backup goalkeeper, Sean Louw, recently shared an intriguing insight into the aspirations of Nigeria's talented player, Stanley Nwabali.

Despite Nwabali's pivotal role in Nigeria's impressive second-place finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, his sights are set on joining the ranks of South African powerhouse, Kaizer Chiefs.

The 27-year-old midfielder has garnered attention from clubs beyond South Africa's borders, but according to Louw, Nwabali's singular focus was on a potential move to Kaizer Chiefs before the AFCON.

“Like I said to you, between you and me his childhood dream was to always play for Kaizer Chiefs, but even me, my childhood dream was to play for Kaizer Chiefs, I don’t blame him,” he was quoted by sabcsport.

“In the beginning of this season he wanted to play for Kaizer Chiefs, but I said to him before you speak to Kaizer Chiefs, first go to Afcon because you will win the Afcon and you will be so much more worth than at Kaizer Chiefs with all due respect.”

Nwabali has played a total of 27 matches in all competitions this season, conceding 26 goals and kept 11 clean sheets.
