U-20 World Cup: Bosso reveals Flying Eagles target, eyes trophy for President Tinubu
Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso says the team is determined to win its first title at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Nigeria has made it to the competition’s final twice in the past.
After securing a place in the quarterfinals at the ongoing U-20 World Cup against hosts Argentina, Bosso said he and his players want to win the trophy for Nigeria’s new president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I dedicate this victory to our new president,” Bosso said after the game.
“We will be the first team to give him his first trophy.”
Bosso promised his players would remain focused on their target despite the victory over Argentina.
“I said it in Abuja that the tougher the start, the easier the end for us,” the tactician added.
“We have faced difficult teams like Brazil, Italy, and now the host nation.
“We will remain humble and focused so that it will be easy for us.”
