As the tenure of the incumbent Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University would be rounding off in May, the Governing Council of the University has announced Adebayo Simeon Bamire, a Professor of Agricultural Economics, as the 12th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Owelle Oscar Udoji made the announcement today.Bamire Adebayo Simeon, a native of Oyan in Odo-Otin LGA of Osun State, was born on 18th January, 1959. He started his educational life in Datus Preparatory.
It will be recalled that the Ife indigenes have been clamouring for one of them to be appointed as the VC but it is apparent that they lost out now.
OAU ANNOUNCES POST UTME DATE

Professor Oyebode Kayode Adebowale (born January 11, 1962) hails from Ibadan has now been appointed as the substantial Vice-Chancellor of the institution.He completed his BSc in 1984, MSc in 1986 and PhD in Industrial Chemistry in 1991, all in the University of Ibadan. He became a Professor in 2006 and has held different positions.
