Black Thought of The Roots and Danger Mouse have shared the last preview of their eagerly anticipated joint album, "Cheat Codes," which will be released later this week.
Run the Jewels and A$AP Rocky are both featured on "Strangers," which also has a distinctly Danger Mouse beat that emphasizes the fast-paced verses from Black Thought, Rocky, El-P, and Killer Mike.
We felt privileged to collaborate on this banger with our esteemed and illustrious friends Danger Mouse, Black Thought, and A$AP Rocky.
The fourth single from "Cheat Codes" is now available ahead of its Friday (12 August) release. The album's lead single, "No Gold Teeth," which was released in May, was announced by Danger Mouse and Black Thought. Then came "Because," a Joey Bada$$, Russ, and Dylan Cartlidge collaboration, in June, and "Aquamarine," a Michael Kiwanuka-assisted song, in July.
The release of "Cheat Codes" will mark the first hip-hop album from Danger Mouse – real name Brian Burton – since "DANGERDOOM", his 2005 collaboration with the late MF DOOM. Black Thought – real name Tariq Trotter – released the third volume in his solo trilogy, "Streams of Thought", in 2020. The Roots’ most recent album – their 11th – was 2014’s "And Then You Shoot Your Cousin".
