Former Big Brother Naija reality TV winner, Mercy Eke, has disclosed that the romantic relationships on the show are a scam and a strategy.

The first female winner stated this during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, while explaining why she was stuck in a relationship with her ex, Ike Onyema.

Remember that Mercy and Ike were a couple on the show, but their relationship did not last beyond the show, disappointing many followers.

Regarding her experience, Mercy noted that if she had known her fanbase was so large, she wouldn’t have pursued a relationship with Ike.

Even when their relationship was not working, the reality TV star said she could not leave Ike because of the money.

”BBNaija relationships are the biggest scam." It was original for me initially. As a matter of fact, if I had known that I was a strong housemate and that people loved me for me, I wouldn’t have bothered getting involved with Ike.

”I would not say it was a strategy; for me, we flowed with it, but we had to put on a show even when not happy for people who are not even in a relationship." If it is not working out, you move but in my case I could not, I had to be there because of money, otherwise, I won’t have the money.”
