Nigerian music icon Timaya has shared an intriguing story about Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, showcasing the Afrobeats star's fearless determination.
In a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos, Timaya recalled a heated studio session years ago involving Burna Boy and fellow singers Omawumi and Waje. According to Timaya, Burna Boy confidently declared that he would one day be paid to fly on private jets—a bold claim at a time when Nigerian artists hadn’t yet embraced such luxuries.
Omawumi and Waje reportedly doubted his statement, which infuriated Burna Boy. In response, the "Last Last" hitmaker reportedly asked them to leave the studio.
Timaya remarked, “Nothing Burna Boy is doing now surprises me. The guy is fearless. That day, he told Omawumi and Waje to leave the studio because they doubted his ambition.”
Today, Burna Boy’s meteoric rise and achievements, including Grammy wins and global tours, stand as a testament to his unshakable belief.
This story highlights the resilience and determination behind Burna Boy’s success, resonating with fans and inspiring aspiring artists worldwide.
