Femi Adebayo’s Netflix Original Yoruba film, Jagun Jagun, emerged as the standout winner at the 2024 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, claiming six prestigious accolades.



The 16th edition of the BON Awards took place on Sunday night, November 24, at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State, with celebrated actress Toyin Abraham hosting the event. Jagun Jagun, which received nominations in 12 categories, clinched awards for Best Indigenous Film, Best Actor, Best Production Design, Best Special Effect, Best Costume, and Director of the Year.

The BON Awards honoured a diverse array of talents, showcasing the richness of Nigeria’s film industry. Here’s the full list of winners:

  15. Best Child Actress: Darasimi Nadi (Unknown Soja)
  16. Best Child Actor: Nifemi Lawal
  17. Most Promising Actress: Chioma Okafor

  19. Best Production Design: Jagun Jagun
  20. Best Screenplay: Momiwa
  21. Best Kiss: Halima Ganiyu & David Akande (Eti Keta)
  22. Best Documentary: Is It Your Money?
  23. Best Special Effect: Jagun Jagun

Femi Adebayo’s powerful portrayal in Jagun Jagun earned him the Best Actor award, while the film’s directors, Bayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo, secured the Director of the Year honour.

The sweeping wins solidify Jagun Jagun as a cinematic masterpiece, celebrating Yoruba culture while resonating with a global audience through its Netflix release.
