Nigerian actor and content creator, Yemi Elesho, has shared intriguing details about his close bond with Grammy-winning artist, Asake, dating back to their university days at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
During a recent interview with streamer Jigan, Elesho revealed that their friendship and working relationship began long before Asake’s rise to stardom. He recalled how he often featured the singer in his movies and skits during their undergraduate years. Surprisingly, his payment for Asake’s performances was a ₦700 plate of rice and a bottle of Coca-Cola.
“I used to give Asake a plate of rice and a Coke as his performance fee when he acted in my movies at OAU,” Elesho reminisced.
The actor further described Asake as his “day-one” friend, emphasizing their deep connection. He revealed that they shared many unforgettable moments, including playing in celebrity football matches together on campus.
