Renowned Nigerian entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has reacted to reports that the United States is set to deport over 3,690 Nigerians following President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigrants.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Charly Boy described Trump as "brash and tough talking" while highlighting the ongoing deportation exercise.
He wrote: "Over 3, 690 Nigerians will be expelled from the United States following the ongoing deportation exercise initiated by the brash and tough- talking President Donald Trump."
According to a report by News Band Newspaper, Mexico and Nicaragua topped the list of affected countries in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation order.
Mixed Reactions From Nigerians Online
Charly Boy's post sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing varying opinions on the issue. While some welcomed the deportation as a lesson for those who allegedly supported Nigeria's current government, others expressed sympathy for the affected individuals.
