Nigerian music powerhouses Wizkid and Ayra Starr have been celebrated as two of the world’s leading artists in 2024 by the renowned music monitoring platform, Chart Data.
Released on New Year’s Eve, the list ranks Wizkid at an impressive 11th position, with Ayra Starr claiming the 18th spot, further cementing Nigeria’s dominance in the global music scene.
Joining them is South African sensation Tyla, who holds the 12th position, showcasing African talent on a global stage.
The coveted top 10 features an eclectic mix of global icons, including South Korean star Jimin, American superstars Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Beyoncé, as well as rap legend Kendrick Lamar. Other celebrated names rounding out the list include British pop star Charli XCX, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and rap queen Nicki Minaj.
Adding to the accolades, another list by Active World highlights Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy among the "Top 20 Global Music Icons Shaping the Future."
