The Kremlin confirmed on Wednesday that future discussions between Russia and the United States will cover Iran’s nuclear program, signaling a potential shift in diplomatic engagements between the two global powers.

Reports suggest that Russia has agreed to assist the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump in facilitating communication with Iran on critical matters, including its nuclear ambitions and regional influence. While Moscow has not officially verified this, it has acknowledged that Iran will be a key topic in upcoming talks with Washington.

“So far, there is a clear understanding that Russia’s stance remains firm—Iran’s nuclear issue must be resolved solely through peaceful political and diplomatic means,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated.
He further emphasized Russia’s commitment to diplomatic solutions, highlighting Iran as an ally and strategic partner. “We see potential for resolution because Iran is a country with which we share strong, mutually beneficial relations. Russia is ready to do everything possible to support peaceful dialogue, and the U.S. is aware of this,” Peskov added.

This development comes as Trump recently reinstated his "maximum pressure" campaign against Tehran, aiming to cripple Iran’s oil exports and prevent the country from advancing its nuclear program. The intensified U.S. measures reflect ongoing concerns over Iran’s regional influence and nuclear ambitions.
