Barely two days after the news of the immninet ban of the Chinese app; Tiktok, TikTok has finally responded to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, saying they are not going anywhere after the President threatened to ban the Chinese-owned video app from the US.

In a statement released by a spokesperson for the company, the platform disclosed that they have provided millions of Americans with “entertainment and connection” during the coronavirus pandemic and denied criticism that its Chinese owner shares user information with Beijing.

“TikTok US user data is stored in the US, with strict controls on employee access. TikTok’s biggest investors come from the US. We are committed to protecting our users’ privacy and safety as we continue working to bring joy to families and meaningful careers to those who create on our platform,” the spokesperson said.

The U.S. General Manager of the company, Vanessa Pappas also appeared in a video on Saturday defending the app and touting U.S. jobs and other measures taken by the company.

“We’re not planning on going anywhere,” Pappas says in the video, adding later, “We’re here for the long run.”

The pushback came after Trump warned on Friday evening that he could use emergency powers or an executive order as soon as this weekend to bar the platform from operating in the U.S.

As the supremacy battle between the President of the United States and the popular social media; Twitter continue to go deeper which has led the President to set to sign the executive order that will regulate social media. It will be noted that Trump threatened to shut down social media after added a fact check to one of the president speech. However, the CEO of twitter, Mr Jack supported and defended the organization and assured the people that the president do not have that power to shut down social media.

In another dimension, one of the tweets by President Trump has now been Twitter censored by twitter. In the tweets, trump called black protesters thugs and threatened to have the military shooting at them if looting continues. Coming from a President who recently criticized Iran leaders for shooting at their protesters, Ironic, right?

....These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!

President Donald Trump has demanded justice for the murder of George Floyd. The president made this known through his Twitter handle late yesterday where he officially issued a statement regarding Floyd's death.

The statement reads "At my request, the FBI and the Department of Justice are already well into an investigation as to the very sad and tragic death in Minnesota of George Floyd," he wrote. "I have asked for this investigation to be expedited and greatly appreciate all of the work done by local law enforcement. My heart goes out to George’s family and friends. Justice will be served!"

Though knowledge of the FBI's involvement in the investigation was already brought to light, Trump's clearly taking this matter seriously by calling on the Department of Justice to investigate Floyd's death. The four officers involved have already been fired, though charges haven't been laid against them yet.

Trump's response follows the protests that took place in the streets of Minneapolis yesterday calling for justice and actual repercussions for the officers involved in the case.

Police statements initially issued claimed that Floyd was resisting arrest at the time of his death which turned out to be false. Surveillance footage from a nearby restaurant emerged because the footage shows that Floyd was not resisting arrest.
