In a heartbreaking turn of events, Adamu Isa, a 15-year-old boy and son of a retired police officer, met a tragic end when he was fatally stabbed by his friend, Abubakar Isa, also 15, in the Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident, which occurred on March 27, 2024, adds to a disturbing trend of violence involving teenagers in the state, coming just two days after another fatal stabbing involving youths elsewhere.

Reports indicate that a disagreement among a group of friends in the NEPA area of Ningi escalated into a heated argument between Adamu and Abubakar. Tragically, the confrontation turned deadly when Abubakar brandished a knife and fatally stabbed Adamu in the neck, near the throat, resulting in his immediate demise before he could receive medical attention.

Confirming the incident, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili, the spokesperson of the Bauchi State Police Command, expressed grave concern over the rising incidence of violent crimes among teenagers and youths in the state. According to Wakili, the police received a distress call from the father of the deceased, retired DSP Kasuwa Isa, who reported the stabbing incident.

"On the 27th of March 2024, at about 1701 hrs, the Ningi Police Division received a distress call from a retired DSP Kasuwa Isa who resides behind the INEC office in Ningi," stated Wakili. "He reported that his son, 15-year-old Adamu Isa, was stabbed with a knife on his neck by one Abubakar Isah, who is also 15 years old and lives behind the NEPA office in Ningi."

In response to the report, the Ningi Division's DPO led a team of detectives to the scene and rushed Adamu to the General Hospital in Ningi, where he was tragically pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

Currently, Abubakar Isa, the suspect, has been apprehended and is in police custody pending further investigation into the incident. The tragic loss of Adamu Isa serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for measures to address violence among youths and safeguard communities from such senseless tragedies.
