In Inyilla Ibere Community, Ikwuano Local Government Council of Abia State, three individuals have been apprehended by vigilant youths.

This action comes in response to their alleged involvement in the theft of seven batteries from an Airtel communications mast situated within the community.

According to information received on Sunday, the local residents became aware of the vandals' activities and promptly took action. The youths, in collaboration with the community vigilante, mobilized to apprehend the suspects, identified as part of a 5-man gang involved in the battery theft.

The source reported that two of the suspects were captured in the forest by the vigilant youths, while another was apprehended by a neighboring village. Unfortunately, one person managed to escape, and the fifth individual is identified as an engineer responsible for servicing the communication facility.

Although the complete identities of the apprehended individuals remain undisclosed, one source mentioned that the fleeing suspect goes by the name Emeka, coincidentally sharing the same name with one of those currently in custody.

This incident highlights the community's commitment to maintaining security and taking swift action against criminal activities. As further details emerge, the authorities will likely conduct investigations to ascertain the full extent of the involvement of the arrested individuals and whether any additional suspects are at large.
