Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District, has been appointed as the Senate Minority Leader, replacing Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon from Plateau North Senatorial District, who was removed by the Appeal Court.
Moro, a two-term senator from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was nominated and affirmed by the opposition party in the Senate.
The Minority Leader position for the North Central region was earlier zoned by the Senate, and Moro, a former Minister of Interior during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, now assumes this role.
This development follows the recent changes in Senate leadership, reflecting the dynamic political landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on Nigerian politics.
