In a shocking and tragic incident, Sylvanus Namang, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, met an untimely end as he was shot dead in Pankshin town, located in the Pankshin Local Government Area of the state.
An official from the party, speaking anonymously, confirmed the unfortunate incident over the telephone. The source revealed that Namang succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack. Describing the late Namang as a reliable ally deeply dedicated to the APC's grassroots and state-level development, the official mentioned that the party would be issuing a statement to provide further details about the circumstances surrounding his tragic death.
According to reports gathered by Daily Trust, Namang was targeted by assailants outside his hotel room in the early hours of the morning, around 7:30 am. Hoodlums opened fire on him, resulting in the fatal shooting.
Sources also indicated that Namang had left his home on Saturday to attend a burial in Pankshin, where he met this unfortunate and shocking demise. The incident has left the political community in Plateau State and beyond in mourning, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the attack on the APC Publicity Secretary.
