In order to witness the adoption of the final addresses in their petition contesting the victory of President Bola Tinubu, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 presidential election, and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, have arrived at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

With a sizable contingent of supporters, Peter Obi entered the courtroom wearing a brown safari suit reminiscent of PDP presidential candidate Abubakar Atiku. The former governor of Anambra State greeted senior attorneys from both his legal team and the other side as soon as they arrived.

On behalf of Peter Obi and the Labour Party in their joint petition, the legal team, led by renowned attorney Dr. Livy Uzuoku, SAN, will deliver the closing remarks. Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, is leading the legal team for President Bola Tinubu on behalf of the respondents, and Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, is in charge of the legal team for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abubakar Balarabe Mahmood, SAN, a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), will represent the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

A date for the petition's judgment will be announced by the tribunal, which is presided over by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, after the adoption of final addresses.
