Five students from Enugu State College of Health Technology in Oji River Local Government Area have fallen victim to a kidnapping by armed men, sparking concerns across the community.
The incident reportedly occurred as the students were departing the school premises. A video that surfaced on social media Saturday vividly captured the grim aftermath, showing a man drenched in blood following the attack.
On Sunday, Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the tragic event in an official statement, noting that the attack took place on Thursday evening. While initial reports exaggerated the scale of the abduction, claiming a “countless number of students” had been taken, DSP Ndukwe clarified that five students were involved.
The police, acting on a tip-off, were able to respond swiftly, successfully rescuing two of the abducted students. Unfortunately, three students are still unaccounted for. DSP Ndukwe reassured the public that an intensive search and rescue operation is underway to locate the missing students and bring the kidnappers to justice.
